ADAM TORRES LAUNCHES URBAN LATINO MGMT GROUP, FOCUSING ON BILINGUAL MARKETPLACE
Adam Torres, who long managed Don Omar’s career, has officially launched the Urban Latino MGMT Group, a management, marketing and sports company focused on multicultural and multilingual talent.
Based in New York and with offices also in Miami, Urban Latino’s roster will span music, film, media personalities and sports, currently includes music artists like Don Omar, Yunel Cruz, Louie Vega and salsa star Frankie Negron, New York Yankees pitcher Ivan Nova and actor Kareem Savinon.
“The entertainment industry has changed drastically in recent years,” said Torres. “So our strategies have to change as well. One of those changes involves working with our talent and clients and ensuring they have multiple options in terms of interests, talent and services. They all need to be able to appeal to different generations while they focus on different U.S. markets.”
Torres has spent nearly 20 years working in entertainment and has long been a proponent of developing artists who can cross cultural and language divides. Most tellingly, he managed Don Omar through some of the reggaeton star’s most memorable moments, including the release of global hit “Danza Kuduro” and his participation in the Fast & Furious film franchise.
Currently, Urban Latino MGMT group is working in tandem with other management companies, with upcoming projects including releases by Yunel Cruz, Momo and Frankie Negron. Torres also has plans to relaunch Urban Latino Magazine, a publication made for the bicultural marketplace.
